GUJRAT: A shoe thrown towards Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s stage during the party’s Gujrat rally on Tuesday hit leader Aleem Khan.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan was addressing the audience in Gujrat when a shoe came flying towards the stage and hit PTI Central Punjab president Aleem Khan in the chest.
According to reports, the shoe was aimed at the PTI chief, who after the incident, shortened his speech and left the stage.
This is not the first incident of its kind. Earlier on Sunday, police arrested a man for trying to throw a shoe at Khan.
The attacker, identified as Mirza Rizwan, intended to hit Khan with a shoe as the PTI chief made his way to his vehicle after the conclusion of the party chief’s Faisalabad address.
On the same day, a former seminary student threw a shoe at former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif during an event at Jamia Naeemia in Garhi Shahu area of Lahore.
