A bird crashed into an airborne plane mid-flight leaving the pilot scrambling to get his wits about and guide the aviator to safety on Sunday. According to details, the plane was headed to Peshawar from Sharjah, and the pilot succeeded in landing the craft safely on the Peshawar airport premises. Sources privy to the matter revealed that six birds have crashed into aircrafts in the past week alone. Airport sources disclosed that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had written multiple letters to authorities concerned to take action on the persistent bird strikes. The CAA detailed the unpleasant cleanliness situation around the airport premises which attracted local birds to feed, and asked the authorities to take strict and prompt action over the situation, but the warnings have thus far fallen on deaf ears. Earlier on October 11, the administration of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had started the implementation of its business plan, focusing on the strategy to make the national entity a profitable organisation. The national flag carrier has increased its routes up to 13 and the number of flights to many countries to generate additional revenue, sources said.
