ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior leader and former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his residence.
After the meeting, Elahi told journalists that opponent of Pakistan and national institutions cannot be a Muslim Leaguer. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Indian prime minister were on one page. For security of Pakistan and safeguarding national institutions, all opposition parties would have to come on one page with Imran Khan, he said.
In the prevailing circumstances, no Muslim Leaguer can remain silent, he said. Coming out in the field was the voice of heart of every Muslim Leaguer against those not merely talking but also doing practical work against the country and national institutions, he alleged. “Those loving their motherland should not lag behind in the struggle against and for safeguarding Pakistan and national institutions,” he said.
He said that PTI and all patriotic opposition parties should work together. Talking to media, Qureshi said that he had come to extend felicitation to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Parvez Elahi on their success in the party elections. Expressing gratitude for supporting sit-in, he said that the Muslim League had adopted concrete and categorical stance over Panama Papers in the ToR Committee. On the direction of Shujaat Hussain and Parvez Elahi, their party representative Tariq Bashir Cheema played very important and active role and presented his party stance in categorical manner, he said.
During the meeting, MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Raja Nasir, Wajid Bukhari and Ajmal Khan Wazir were also present. Consultations regarding November 2 sit-in also took place during the meeting.
