ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday criticised ex-PM Nawaz Sharif for clashing with the judiciary saying that “war with judiciary is not in favour of neither democracy nor the country.”
“The clash with institutions must be avoided at all costs. War with judiciary is not in the best interest of Pakistan and democracy,” Bilawal said while speaking at a press conference in Islamabad.
Criticising former prime minister Nawaz, Bilawal said: “Those who chant ‘give respect to vote’ slogans have nothing to do with democracy. Nawaz Sharif is opting dirty tactics and I know why he is doing so.”
Bilawal also criticised the ruling government’s budget policy saying that “the PML-N is hijacking the future government’s right and engineering pre-poll rigging. We at PPP condemn the ruling government over their policy.”
He added that the ruling government can only present the budget of next 3-6 months and that the next government holds the right to allocate the budget for next year.
Speaking about PPP defects, Bilawal stressed that “flip-floppers are a threat to democracy” and that ideological individuals do not change parties.
